Bakang Tshepo Moetse is a sustainable development, innovation and investment strategist working at the intersection of capital, entrepreneurship, technology and inclusive economic growth. She brings more than a decade of experience spanning banking, impact investment,
corporate innovation, entrepreneurship development and international development.
Her career began at Stanbic Bank Botswana and includes roles with Edge Growth, the Bertha Centre for Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business, and Plug and Play Tech Center. These experiences have shaped her understanding of how financial institutions, investors, corporations, entrepreneurs and development organisations can work together to advance inclusive and sustainable growth.
At Plug and Play, a global innovation accelerator and early-stage venture capital platform, Bakang led corporate partnerships and innovation initiatives across South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa. She worked with startups, investors, corporations and ecosystem partners to develop strategic
collaborations, support emerging technologies and accelerate innovative solutions.
Bakang has also contributed to the World Bank’s Climate Technology Programme and worked on initiatives involving UN Women, the Rockefeller Foundation and Convergence. Her work has focused on inclusive growth, climate resilience, emerging technologies, employment creation,
gender equity and mobilising capital for sustainable development.
Her expertise spans strategy, partnerships, impact investment, climate innovation, ecosystem building and programme implementation. She is particularly focused on strengthening the connections between entrepreneurs, capital, markets and institutions so that climate-positive and
economically inclusive ventures can grow and contribute to broader sustainable development outcomes.
